Anonymous asked: Being a Black NDN is not the same as being Native. That's just a fact. It is stupid to be offended by facts. Jalwhite DOES make everything about being a Black Native and it takes away from Native issues. Black issues get plenty of attention and she is fine with leaving Native people in the dust as long as Black/ Black Native issues are addressed. You can't deny that. If you were really Native, you wouldn't be defending her.

I’m surprised you could fit so much anti-black sentiment into such a short paragraph.

After de-coding what you are basically saying is that you don’t want nativeness to be associated with blackness. The fact that you say that I would not defend jal if I was “really native” is essentially more of you not wanting “native” to be, in any way, associated with “black”.

This is not okay. This is divisive and wrong and nauseatingly colonialist.

Black native issues ARE NATIVE ISSUES just like light-skinned native issues are native issues, just like urban native issues are native issues, just like rez native issues are native issues, etc.
