So about that thing earlier where an anon was saying that if Jal were to be attacked (but don’t worry, they made sure to clarify that they hoped she DIDN’T get attacked *massive eye roll*) it wouldn’t be because she”looked native”.
Let’s ignorantly assume for a moment that all natives look like Pocahontas and Kokoum. Even if that were the case, these statistics would still have nothing to do with the way the attack victims looked.
These statistics do not say “attackers are more likely to attack people with long straight black hair, burnt umber skin, and dark eyes”.
They don’t even say “attackers are more likely to attack people who look native”.
They say “Native people are more likely to have been attacked”.
And if you don’t understand how that’s incredibly different from the two above, then you really shouldn’t be citing statisticss at all.
